The Periphery
Foundation
The Periphery Foundation grew out of the efforts of Brandon Ferdig’s human interest journalism.
He began by traveling the U.S., capturing people’s lives from Alabama to Alaska. These interviews would later focus on a particular topic, rather than region. In 2018, the topic was homelessness, and the rise of a prominent encampment in Minneapolis set the scene for Brandon’s documentary “The Wall” (right).
Proceeds from this film premiere needed a home, as did the revenue starting to accumulate from Brandon’s YouTube channel, The Periphery, where he posts his interviews with marginalized people across the country.
